QPR’s Ebere Eze Gives A Hint On Where His International Future Lies

The QPR star is eligible to play for the Super Eagles of Nigeria and Three Lions of England.

Eberechi Eze has revealed he is happy to be an England youth international but has opened the door for an allegiance switch to Nigeria.

The QPR star was born in England and has played for the country at youth levels, but he qualifies to represent Nigeria through his parents.

Eze is arguably QPR’s best player this season with 12 goals and eight assists in 37 championship games for the Hoops this campaign.

Although he has nine caps for England at both U-20 and U-21 level, he has never been capped at the senior level, and that has left the door open for Nigeria.

Last year, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president, Amaju Pinnick visited Eze in London in a bid to convince him to play for the country of his parents.

While he asked for time to make his decision following the meeting, Eze has hinted he could play for the Super Eagles after training with the team in 2017.

Speaking in a recent interview with Four Four Two magazine with quotes gotten from Forbes,  the 20-year-old revealed he is happy to be part of England set-up, but he enjoyed his time with Gernot Rohr’s led team.

“I’m very happy to be part of England’s youth setup right now, but I enjoyed training with Nigeria,” he said.

“It’s a privilege to be involved with both, but I don’t want to make a decision yet – I just need to focus on QPR.”

Eze’s form for QPR has attracted interest from Premier League sides with Tottenham reportedly leading the race for his signature.
