Solskjaer Says Manchester United Youngsters Can Learn One Thing From Ighalo

The former Super Eagles scored a brace in United’s FA Cup win over Manchester United, and Solskjaer believes United youngsters can learn a thing from his style of play.

Odion Ighalo fulfilled a childhood dream when he joined the Red Devils last January, and so far he’s delivered impressively.

He scored his first goal in United’s Europa League win over Club Brugge, while he also found the target twice in the FA Cup clash over Derby on Thursday night.

Speaking after the win over Derby, Manchester United manager believes Ighalo offers them something different from the other strikers they have at the club, and youngsters can learn from him.

The former Cardiff manager says Ighalo is alive in the box which is a different quality to what the likes of Rashford and Martial offer to the team.

He also praised his physical presence inside the box and has urged the club’s academy prospects to take that from his game.

“He has a physical presence. You can get the ball up to him, and he can keep hold of it. It’s hard to be a central defender against him when he is looking for you first, and he buys himself half a yard just by that movement,” Solskjaer told Skysports

“Sometimes our young boys, they are not used to that from the academy. They are used to, ‘You’re not allowed to tackle me’ almost. So, of course, I would like them to look at him and learn a couple of things,” he added.
