Video: See The Reception Onyekuru Received On His Second Galatasaray Debut

The Super Eagles star rejoined Galatasaray on a six-month loan deal from Monaco last month, but he only made his debut on Sunday.

It was a second debut to remember for Onyekuru as he was given a fantastic reception by Galatasaray fans in the Lions 4-1 win over Kayserispor.

The 22 -year-old was a hero at Türk Telekom Stadium last season as his 16 goals helped Galatasaray win the league and cup double.

However, Galatasaray could not agree a deal with Everton who were his owners as at that time before selling him to Monaco. His time at the Principality was a tough one as he battled injuries which limited him to just four appearances before sealing a loan move back to Turkey.

Illness prevented him from making his second debut on time, but he finally did on Sunday, and the Galatasaray fans gave him a rousing reception.

The Super Eagles star was introduced in the 83rd minute of the win against Kayserispor, and with the scoreline reading 3-1 as at that time, Onyekuru capped off the appearance with an assist for Sofiane Feghouli’s second goal of the night.

Following the encounter, Onyekuru took to Twitter to express his delight at making his debut again for the club, while he also thanked the fans for their reception.

A brace from Sofiane Feghouli, plus goals from Adem Buyuk and Ryan Donk secured a comprehensive win for Galatasaray over Kayserispor who scored a consolation through Muris Mesanovic.

The win lifts the champions to sixth on the Super Lig table with 36 points from 20 games, five points behind surprise leaders, Sivasspor.
