Inter Milan are pleased to have added the talents of the Nigerian to the Italian side’s squad, says Giuseppe Marotta.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Nerazzurri defended the loan signing of Chelsea winger Victor Moses, insisting that the former Wigan forward was precisely what Antonio Conte wanted.
The 29-year-old prematurely cut short his loan spell at Fenerbahce to team up once again with Conte. The former Nigeria international enjoyed an auspicious time in London when the Italian manager was in charge at the Stamford Bridge.
Conte who is now leading Internazionale to challenge champions Juventus for the Serie A title pushed for the acquisition of Moses. The former Super Eagles star is one of the few players who can adapt to playing the manager’s brand of football.
Marotta has now shed more light on why Inter moved to secure the services of Moses despite the abundance of wing-back talents already at the club.
“We consider him to be the last piece of a puzzle that Conte has shaped in the best way possible, and we are happy over this,” the 62-year-old was quoted by Football Inside.
“Conte worked with him at Chelsea, where he was a starter. Also, there are a lot of matches. The players who don’t play tonight will have other chances. We are happy with our squad.”
Moses is enjoying an excellent start to life in Italy, having won the two games he has played since he moved to the San Siro.
