Gernot Rohr is currently having things easy as the head coach of the Nigerian national football team as he boasts some of the finest attackers in the world, says former Chelsea defender Celestine Babayaro.
Former Nigeria international, Babayaro, has named the trio of Moses Simon, Samuel Chukwueze, and Victor Osimhen as the best three Nigerian forwards in Europe at the moment.
The three-time African champions do not lack attacking options in some of the continent’s biggest clubs with Emmanuel Dennis, Henry Onyekuru, Josh Maja, and Kelechi Iheanacho currently getting the goalscoring job done for Club Brugge, Galatasaray, Bordeaux, and Leicester City respectively.
But it is the Nantes winger, nominated for the club’s Player of the Month award, the Villarreal youngster, and the Lille goalscoring machine who have impressed Babayaro.
The former Olympics Gold Medalist knows a thing or two about talented attackers having spent the best part of his career defending against the world’s finest in the English Premier League.
The 41-year-old believes that the Super Eagles will become fearsome once Rohr finds the right tactics to exploit the talents of the trio.
“When you have players, who are doing well at their various club sides, it makes easy your job as coach of any national team,” the former Newcastle fullback told Owngoalnigeria.com via The Sun News.
“Presently, it’s all about finding the right tactics to have Simon, Chukwueze, and Osimhen play to their full potential. They are about the best three Nigerian players in Europe right now.
“They have what it takes to trouble any team in the world; pace, skills, power, and finishing. All three have proven they have it this season.”
