After fully recovering from a bout of malaria that has kept him away from action since his loan switch to the Super Lig giants, the Nigeria international has expressed his delight at returning to training.
Henry Onyekuru returned for a second loan spell at the Super Lig champions a few weeks ago from French club Monaco, but his quest to get in the thick of the action was hit with a bout of malaria.
After overcoming the medical setback, the 22-year-old is raring to make his second debut for the Yellow-Reds.
Writing on his verified Twitter handle, the former Eupen star said, “It’s a blessing to be back doing what I love! 2020 started with little setback due to illness but I’m 100% now. Let’s get started! God is Good.”
After struggling at the Stade Louis II in the first half of the season, Onyekuru completed a quick return to coach Fatih Terim’s side within the first few days of the year. It is his second loan spell at Galatasaray having helped the same side to the league title last term.
The champions currently sit in sixth place on the Super Lig table with 33 points, eight points behind surprise leaders, Sivasspor.
The Yellow-and-Reds host bottom side Kayserispor at the Türk Telekom Stadıum on Sunday and Onyekuru will hope to play some part.
In his first spell with the Lions, the Nigeria international scored 16 goals and contributed six assists in 44 matches, as Galatasary won the League and Cup double.
