Kings Cup: Disappointment For Ogu In Aladalah’s Debut As Musa Marches On With Al-Nassr

John Ogu’s first game in the colours of Aladalah ended in disappointment as they were defeated by Ahmed Musa’s Al Nassr in the quarter-final of Saudi Arabia’s Kings Cup.

Ogu signed a deal with Aladalah last week, six months after leaving Israeli side Hapoel Beer Sheva. However, his debut did not go according to plan as they were knocked out of the Kings Cup Al-Nassr.

Ogu who played as a centre back was on for the entire duration of the encounter, but he could do little to prevent his side from going down.

Reacting after the game, Ogu revealed he was happy to make his debut, but expressed his disappointment at the result.

Abderrazak Hamdallah’s finish six minutes after the restart gave Al-Nassr a well-deserved victory over their hosts. The Saudi Champions bossed possession and had ten shots on goal.

While Ogu played for 90 minutes, Ahmed Musa was a 90th-minute substitute for Brazil’s Giuliano de Paula. The Super Eagles captain has played 13 times for Al-Nassr this season, scoring two goals which came in the Kings Cup.
