The Super Falcons skipper has teased her fans she’ll be tying the nuptial knots in a few weeks. Asisat Oshoala made public her intentions to leave her spinster life behind and get married to her lover by the end of February.
However, it appears the Barcelona striker is joking as the date she plans to get married does not exist. The former Arsenal ladies striker revealed she is getting married on February 30th- a date that does not exist on the calendar.
“I am getting married on February 30th. Everyone is invited to attend,” the reigning African Women Footballer of the Year wrote on her Instagram page.
At just 25, the former Arsenal star is already one of the most successful Nigeria female football players ever.
Oshoala has won four African Women’s Championship titles and helped Nigeria reach the finals of the 2014 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, winning the Golden Shoe and Golden Ball.
After the tournament, former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan conferred on the youngster one of the highest honours in the land, Member of the Order of the Niger (MON), in recognition of her exploits.
At club level, she claimed one FA Women’s Cup honours with Arsenal and lifted the Chinese Women’s Super League trophy with Dalian Quanjian F.C.
Only recently, Superzee became only the second player in history – after compatriot Perpetua Nkwocha – to win the CAF African Women’s Player of the Year award a record four times.
