Barely six months after leading the North London club to the UEFA Champions League final – which they narrowly lost to Liverpool – former Argentina international Mauricio Pochettinho has been relieved of his post as Tottenham Hotspurs manager.
In a club statement released on Tuesday night, Tottenham has confirmed the departure of manager Pochettino after a five-and-a-half year spell with the Londoners.

Mauricio Pochettinho has been sacked by Spurs after a poor start to the season left Tottenham struggling currently in 14th in the league having only won three of 12 games this campaign. The team has won just six games in the Premier League since February.
Though, the former Southampton boss guided Spurs into the Champions League final for the first time ever during that period, it was not enough to save his head from the axe.
“It is not a decision the board has taken lightly, nor in haste,” the statement said.
“Regrettably domestic results at the end of last season and beginning of this season have been extremely disappointing.
“It falls to the board to make the difficult decisions — this one made more so given the many memorable moments we have had with Mauricio and his coaching staff — but we do so in the club’s best interests.”
