Super Eagles Defender Seeks To Maintain Another Impressive Display As Westbrom Host Sheffield Wednesday

After an impressive performance in the colours of the senior national team during the international break, Super Eagles defender, Semi Ajayi will be hoping to maintain his place in the starting line as West Brom welcome Sheffield Wednesday in Saturday’s English Championship.

The Nigerian international, who played a key part in the Super Eagles 4-2 win against Lesotho in a 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Maseru last weekend, will be hoping to make his 17th joining West Brom at the summer.

Having netted two goals this ongoing season, the former Rotherham star is expected to continue from where he stopped for the club before the international break.

The Baggies are unbeaten in their last six and triumphed 1-0 over Hull City in their most recent outing, while Wednesday have not won in their last three and face a tough task to return to winning ways.

West Brom sit atop the Championship table after a fine season in which they have lost just twice – a 2-1 defeat against Millwall in the EFL Cup and a 1-0 league loss to Leeds United – the most recent of which came at the start of October.

Possible Line Ups

West Brom: Johnstone; Furlong, Ajayi, Bartley, Gibbs; Barry, Krovinovic; Phillips, Pereira, Diangana; Robson-Kanu

Sheffield Wednesday: Westwood; Iorfa, Borner, Lees, Palmer; Murphy, Luongo, Hutchinson, Bannan, Harris; Fletcher
