Jose Mourinho began his managerial career at Tottenham on a winning note as Spurs defeated West Ham 3-2 in Saturday’s Premier League game.
Mourinho was hired by Spurs Chairman, Daniel Levy on Wednesday after the sacking of former manager, Mauricio Pochettino on Tuesday due to poor form of results that left the team in 14th place in the league.
The Portuguese tactician, who has managed Chelsea and Man United wasted no time to announce his readiness to pilot the team to the top with a convincing victory that would delight Levy.
The visitor shot straight into the lead in the 11th minute as Son Heung-min slotted the ball past West Ham goalkeeper, Paulo Gazzaniga.
Spurs later doubled their lead in the 43rd minute through a Lucas Moura’s beautiful finish to the delight of Mourinho.
Harry Kane compounded West Ham’s woes in the 49th minute with a clinical goal to silence the home supporters.
In the 73rd minute, Michail Antonio pulled one back for West Ham before Angelo Ogbonna netted another goal but was not enough to trigger any form of comebacks as Mourinho picked his first three points as Spurs manager.
