Unknown former Belgian youth international Cyriel Dessers has been named Whoscored.com‘s Player of the Week in the Dutch Eredivisie after he was involved in five of the six goals in Heracles 6-1 thrashing of VVV Venlo at Stadion ErveAsito (Almelo) on Saturday.

The Leuven-born striker, who has expressed his desire to represent the Super Eagles at international level, scored a perfect 10/10 rating for netting a fine hat trick and providing two other assists in the thrilling matchday thirteen fixture.

Dessers, who is still awaiting his first invitation to the Super Eagles, has played every single minute of every Heracles game this season and has accounted for half of the goals scored by the Dutch team.

Another Nigeria-born midfielder, Chidera Ejuke, also made Whoscored.com’s Team of the Week after he scored a brace to help  SC Heerenveen gain a fine 2-1 victory over Sparta Rotterdam.

Ejuke’s double at the weekend took his goal tally to seven in 14 matches across all competitions for the season.
