Joseph Yobo Tells Super Eagles Star How He Can Save His Career

It’s bizarre to imagine one of Nigeria’s hottest properties in Europe seems to experience difficult times in Ligue 1.

Known for his pace, dribbling skills and eyes for goals, Super Eagles forward, Henry Onyekuru has remained in the dark after joining Monaco from parent club, Everton.

He has found playing time difficult in the French League, managing just four appearances for Monaco and 160 minutes on the field in total.

The Nigerian international had success with Galatasaray last season scoring 16 goals in all competitions, but he is having a torrid time in the Principality.

With the January Transfer window just a few weeks away, former Super Eagles defender, Joseph Yobo has advised Onyekuru to leave Monaco in order to revive his career.

“It was sad he (Onyekuru) couldn’t find a chance to play in Everton, Yobo said.”  He is a great talent. His failure to secure a work permit didn’t allow him to play for Everton.

“The English Premier League is one of the best leagues in the world, but it can be a big disadvantage when you don’t play.

“His performance for Galatasaray last season was exceptional and I expect him to do that with the national team. His time in Monaco has not been good and leaving the club is the best option for him.”
