He Is Back! Jose Mourinho Makes A Return To The Premier League

He has been out of a job for almost a year, but the self-acclaimed ‘Special One’, Jose Mourinho is back in the Premier League.

The Portuguese who was sacked by Man Utd last year December was announced this morning as the new manager of Tottenham Hotspurs who parted ways with Mauricio Pochettino on Tuesday.

A statement on Tottenham’s official website read: We are delighted to announce the appointment of Jose Mourinho as Head Coach on a contract that runs until the end of the 2022/23 season.

Tottenham chairman, Daniel Levy believes the club have made the right decision in appointing Mourinho who is one of the successful managers in football.

“In Jose we have one of the most successful managers in football. He has a wealth of experience, can inspire teams and is a great tactician. He has won honours at every club he has coached. We believe he will bring energy and belief to the dressing room.”

Reacting to his appointment, Mourinho revealed he is excited to be back managing at a club that has so much heritage.

“I am excited to be joining a Club with such a great heritage and such passionate supporters. The quality in both the squad and the academy excites me. Working with these players is what has attracted me.”

The Portuguese first game in charge will come at the Olympic stadium as Spurs travel to West Ham in a London derby.
