Gernot Rohr on Wednesday released a new 23-man list of players to prosecute the 2021 AFCON qualifiers and having confirmed his spot on the team, Scotland based Nigeria international Joe Aribo went on to provide two glorious assists as Rangers smashed four goals past Ross County in front of 6, 575 supporters at the Global Energy Stadium.
Two goals each from Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Jack saw the Light Blues cruise to their biggest ever victory at Ross County, a game in which Joe Aribo was terrific for the full 90 minutes.
Joe Aribo supplied two assists, provided a pre-assist and saw an effort crash against the woodwork to help Rangers demolish Ross County 4-0 and maintain their position leveled on points at the top of the Scottish Premiership table with champions Celtic.
In his ninth league appearance of the season, Joe Aribo set up two of the four goals scored by the Gers, with Ryan Jack and Alfredo Morelos benefitting from his efforts in the 37th and 71st minute as the Gets extended their unbeaten run to five game.
It is delightful news for the Super Eagles as the leggy midfielder has just been included in the 23-man squad set to face Benin Republic and Lesotho in an African Cup of Nations qualifying double header in November.
The 23-year-old former Charlton Athletic midfielder was the hero for the Super Eagles earlier this month when his fine goal earned coach Gernot Rohr side a pleasant 1-1 draw against five time world champions Brazil.
Aribo also grabbed a goal on his debut for the Nigeria in September when the three-time African champions played out a thrilling 2-2 draw in Ukraine.
