Luiz, Guendouzi Dazzle In Arsenal Player Ratings

Arsenal got their Premier League campaign back on track with a slender victory over Bournemouth at the Emirates.

The Gunners went into the clash with just one win from their previous five league matches but took the lead after eight minutes.

Nicolas Pepe’s delivery from a corner was met by David Luiz to head home his first goal for the north Londoners.

Bournemouth provided little in the first half to test the home side, but came out firing in the second half and almost pulled level.

Leno 6: No complaints from Bernd Leno. The German stopper did everything expected of him and will be pleased with that clean sheet.

Chambers 7: He did well enough. Calum Chambers was solid defensively and carried a threat moving forward with a couple of dangerous crosses.

Papastathopoulos 6: One of the easier afternoons he’ll have. Looked good on the ball.

Kolasinac 7: Knows he is playing for his place now but did what he had to. Solid.

Ceballos 7: Kept Arsenal ticking over with some neat and tidy passing. Wasn’t afraid to do the dirty work.

Xhaka 6: Fine. Clumsy at times in the tackle but stopped the ball into the strikers to good effect.

Guendouzi 8: Continued his strong start to the season and looks more composed of every game.

Pépé 7: Delivered the corner for Luiz’s opener and showed some nice touches. Still more to come. Booked.

Aubameyang 7: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang did well enough. He had some good touches and moved well and was unfortunate not to grab Arsenal’s second goal late on.

Saka 7: It was another lively Premier League performance from Bukayo Saka. The youngster was full of energy all match long, constantly pressing and harrying his opponents. It didn’t translate to much in front of the goal but Saka can be pleased with his performance.

Substitutes

Gabrielle Martinelli 4: Had little or no contribution to the game.

Joe Willock 4: Had little or no contribution to the game.

Lucas Torreira  4:  Made ni impact.
