Barcelona came from behind to claim a hard fought 2-1 win over Inter Milan, which left Antonio Conte displeased with the manner of the Catalonia side’s victory.
Former Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte was left frustrated after his Inter Milan side, despite taking the lead after just two minutes through Lautaro Martinez, lost to Barcelona courtesy of a Luis Suarez brace.
“The second half was something that changed the game completely,” Conte said as monitored by Soccernet.ng.
“We responded to everything they threw at us until the 65th minute. We could’ve even got a penalty, in a very dubious play in my opinion.
“They equalised on the counter and the rhythm went down there.
“We have to understand at which point it was about Barcelona’s strength and which it was our fault.
“We have many players that have played consecutive matches. Alexis [Sanchez], for example, had played against Sampdoria.
“It leaves a bad taste [knowing] what we’ve done, produced and created. We deserved [to win] a lot more than Barcelona.
“In the end, the game was decided by some amazing players.”
“Those that know me know that it hurts to lose. Always,” Conte noted.
“It’s the conviction and satisfaction of coming here, against a team that’s trying to win the Champions League, and showing that we have personality.
“We hurt them, [but] not as much as we could have. When you come up against a team like them, these things happen. It all gives you experience.
“On the one hand, it’s a glass half full for what we have shown. On the other, it’s a glass half empty because we came away with a defeat.
“Losing like this leaves a bad taste.”
