Amidst Tammy Abraham Rumours, Another Star Dumps England For Nigeria

Amidst rumours circling that Tammy Abraham has decided to play for England national team, another English star has declared his intention to represent the Super Eagles ahead of the Three Lions.

Rangers winger, Sheyi Ojo said he will love to represent Nigeria if he is called up by Gernot Rohr. This comes after it was reported in the English media that Tammy Abraham is set to dump Nigeria if he is called up by Gareth Southgate this week.

Both Sheyi Ojo and Abraham were born in England, but to Nigerian parents, and are eligible to represent both England and Nigeria.

The duo have represented England at youth level and were part of the team that won the 2017 U-20 world cup in South Korea.

While Abraham has his heart set on England, Ojo has declared his intentions to play for Super Eagles, saying he will love to play with Joe Aribo at international level, whom he play with at club level with Rangers.

Aribo made his international debut for the Super Eagles last month, scoring in a 2-2 draw against Ukraine, and Ojo will like to have a similar experience.

“I’ve made it known that I am willing to switch allegiance to Nigeria. I’ll be glad if I am called up because just like Joe Aribo I also want to play for Nigeria at senior level.”
