Super Eagles Defender Set To Inspire Udinese To Victory Against Parma

Super Eagles defender, William Troost-Ekong will be aiming for another impressive performance as Udinese host Parma in Sunday’s Serie A tie at the Dacia Arena.

The Nigerian international, who played all 90 minutes last weekend, was solid at the back in Udinese’s slim 1-0 victory over AC Milan last, to begin their season on a flying start.

With the team sitting 7th on the log, manager, Igor Tudor will be banking on Troost-Ekong to marshal the defence with great solidity as they hope to earn another three points.

Recall that the team is yet to concede a goal this ongoing season and will face a Parma side that narrowly 1-0 to reigning champions, Juventus in the opening fixture last weekend.

Parma will be seeking to bounce back to winning way or at least pick a point to better their standing in the Serie A table.

Statistically, Udinese has won two, lost three and drawn one in their last six meetings in all competitions against Parma.

Possible Line up

Udinese: Musso – Samir, Becao, Troost-Ekong – Sema, Larsen, Fofana, Mandragora, Jajalo – D.Paul – Lasagna

Parma: Sepe – Gagliolo, Laurini, Bruno Alves, Iacopini – Grassi, Kucka, Brugman – Karamoh, Gervinho, Inglese.

Udinese vs Parma: Head to Head

Overall stats: Udinese 14 wins, Parma 18 wins, 10 draws.

  • Despite playing better in both games, Udinese only got a point from last season’s games vs Parma. (1-2 at home, 2-2 away)
  • Seven of the last ten games had three goals or more.
  • ‘Gialloblu’ scored at least one goal in last twelve games vs Udine.
  • Udinese won three of last five home games vs Parma.
