Rashford’s Penalty Sees Man United Seal Victory Against Leicester City

A Marcus Rashford’s penalty was enough to seal a hard-fought victory as Manchester United defeated Leicester City 1-0 at Old Trafford in Saturday’s Premier League.

The victory was the Red Devils second victory at home after their sterling opener against Chelsea before losing 2-1 to Crystal Palace.

United took the game to Leicester City from the sound of the referee’s whistle as they attacked through Daniel James and Rashford.

The host pressure paid off in the 8th minute when Rashford gave the team the early lead via a penalty to the delight of the home supporters.

Despite losing Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial and Luke Shaw to injuries, Man United showed no sign of missing their big stars as Daniel James continued to lead the team’s attack.

Man United could have extended their lead in the 25th and 40th minute but Rashford failed to convert his goal begging chances. The team could have been punished by Vardy as his low shot went wide the post despite finding himself in a goalscoring position.

The Foxes also had another chance to level the goal at the resumption of the second half but Madisson failed to control a well-placed ball that passed to him.

Man United hardly threatened the Leicester City goalkeeper as Rashford and Daniel James could not replicate their first-half performance.

The victory moves Man United to 4th position pending the result between Arsenal and Watford on Sunday.
