Everton Midfielder Heaps Praises On Super Eagles Winger

Everton midfielder, Gylfi Sigurdsson, has revealed that Super Eagles winger, Alex Iwobi has plenty to offer the team in the Premier League.

Sigurdsson made this known on Sunday during an interview on Liverpool Echo, where he commended the Nigerian international for making a statement of intents with the goals he scored against Lincoln City in the Carabao Cup and Wolves in the Premier League.

Iwobi, who is currently on international duty with the senior national team as the team gets ready to face Ukraine on September 10 in an international friendly game at the Dnipro Stadium, joined the Toffees from Arsenal at the summer.

However, the Iceland playmaker said that Iwobi and other Everton recruits such as Fabian Delph, and Djibril Sidibe are expected to make the team stronger in the league.

“Of course for him, for an attacking player, it’s nice to get that first goal early on,” he said.

”It’s good for the confidence and all of the other boys, not just him, [with] Fabian [Delph] coming back from injury and Djibril [Sidibe, who made his Everton debut against Lincoln City] there’s good depth in the squad at the moment.”

All things being equal, Iwobi is expected to be in starting line up when Everton visit Bournemouth on September 15 after the international break.
