Following his four-goal heroics in Portugal’s 4-1 victory over Lithuania in a Euro 2020 qualifier last night, Cristiano Ronaldo has claimed he is not bothered about winning the Ballon d’Or or FIFA Best.
The Juventus star was in fine form last night for the Selecao as he scored all four goals which take his international record to 93 goals.
Following the win, Ronaldo was asked if he deserves to win the remaining individual prizes left this year, to which he answered that he is not obsessed with individual prizes.
The former Real Madrid star added that the most important thing for him is for the team to continue doing well.
“As I always say, I don’t live thinking about individual prizes,” Ronaldo said. This is a consequence of what we collectively won. But it’s good, I won’t lie. The important thing was to help the team.
“I scored a goal against Serbia and four here and I’m very happy We have to dismiss this moment and what I want most is to continue like this.”
He also revealed that he’s not thinking of retiring from international football yet because he believes in the current Portuguese side.
“I’m having a good time, but the team was doing very well too,” Ronaldo told reporters. I am happy and enjoying this moment, not because I scored the goals, but because of the level we have been able to demonstrate in recent years. It is up to me to continue helping the national team.
