Alex Iwobi finally made his long awaited debut since joining from Arsenal on deadline day but the night ended in defeat as Everton succumbed to a 2-0 loss at the Villa Park.
Goals from Aston Villa’s Wesley and playoff hero El Ghazi handed Everton their defeat of the season, with substitute Iwobi tasting defeat in his first outing with the Toffees.
Iwobi, introduced into the game with thirty minutes of play left, could have scored a memorable debut day goal but he was denied by the woodwork.

“We weren’t playing at our best, it was one of those nights. Lack of concentration and silly mistakes. We have already spoken about it in the changing room. We are not trying to dwell on the negativity. We just need to move on.”
