Guinea vs Madagascar: AFCON 2019 Preview, Kickoff time and Where to watch

The Alexandria Stadium will host the second group B fixture of the Africa Cup of Nations as Guinea come at loggerheads against Madagascar on Saturday.

Despite being placed in a tough group in the qualifying stages wherein they were pitted against local rivals Ivory Coast, the Syli Nationale topped their group and qualified for the showpiece event with ease, going unbeaten right through their qualifying campaign.

Guinea will be featuring in only their 12th AFCON tournament, and this will be their first appearance in the competition since 2015. They will be relying on the experience of UEFA Champions League winner, Nabby Keita, Amadou Diawara and Francois Kamano against a Madagascar side that would be desperate to create an upset.

On the other hand, Madagascar will turn to their 35-year-old striker Faneva Imà Andriantsima who was their top scorer in the qualifiers with three goals for more goals in Egypt.

The Clermont striker will be helped in that task by Al-Adalh FC forward Charles Carols Andriamatsinoro who scored twice in the qualifiers. 26-year-old Winger Njiva Tsilavina Martin from Samut Sakhon will also be a goal threat. The team will also benefit immensely from the experience of Olympique Lyonnais defender Jeremy Morel.
