Red Devils compound Sarri woes

Manchester United defeated Chelsea 2-0 in the FA Cup on Monday evening at the Stamford Bridge to advance to the next round of the competition as Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s men compound Maurizio Sarri’s woes in his debut season.

Manchester United started the game with a fast pace with Chelsea doing the chase, The Blues gradually got into the game when they launched their first attack that was comfortably saved by Sergio Romero.

The game was an ended to end display as both teams battled it out in the midfield. Ashley Young was shown a yellow for his rough tackle on Pedro with just 19 minutes of play.

Kepa almost gave away a goal to Manchester United by the defence was alert to clear his blunder in the 24th minute. Chelsea absorbed the pressure from Manchester United but in the 31st minute, a cross from Paul Pogba was connected unmarked Ander Herrera to give Manchester United the lead.

Gonzalo Higuain was left with a loose ball in the half field but his decision to cut in was poor as he lost the ball to an oncoming defender.

Pogba made it 2-0 before the end of the first half, the first half ended in favour of the visiting team.

Manchester United was out to calm the game in the second half as the visiting team aim to control the proceedings after the 2-0 lead. Chelsea struggled all night to find a way pass Manchester United defence.

The game ended 2-0 in favour of Manchester United.
