Nigeria Football Federation First Vice President, Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi, has debunked rumours that the Federal Government is not in good terms with the football body in the country.
He made this known on Sunday after reports circulating in some social media pitched the FG and NFF at loggerheads, a report which he claims was never true from the onset.
Akinwunmi, who hailed Nigeria’s qualification for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations after their 1-1 draw against South Africa, stated that the Federal Government have shown total support for NFF President, Amaju Pinnick.
“When people say the Federal Government is against this NFF board, they are lying. The Federal Government of Nigeria has time and again shown its support to the Amaju Pinnick board.
“The Nigeria President was among the first to congratulate the Super Eagles via a message sent within thirty minutes of qualification.”
