Victory against Seychelles, Libya are not negotiable – Troost-Ekong

Super Eagles defender, William Troost-Ekong has declared that Nigeria would pick maximum point against Seychelles (September 8) and Libya in a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Nigeria are third on the log with zero points after losing their opening fixture 2-0 to South Africa at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in June 2017.

Having failed to qualify for the last two editions of the bi-annual tournaments, Troost-Ekong believed that the players are poised to make amends by qualifying for the 2019 AFCON tournament in Cameroon.

He said they are not ready to negotiate anything with the two teams and would be hoping to pick the six points.

“It will be a hard job in the next two months and I know the boys and staff are taking these games very seriously. But of course, I believe if we perform at our optimum, we will garner the points from the remaining matches and qualify for the final tournament.

“We have demonstrated now that when Nigeria plays at its best there aren’t many teams we have to fear,” stressed Ekong who switched from Turkey to Italy this summer window.
