Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo is set to return to former English Champions, Chelsea, after announcing his departure from Turkish club Kasımpaşa S.K. on Tuesday.
Omeruo, 24, returned for a second loan spell with Kasımpaşa in August 2017 and ended the season with 28 league appearances, scoring one goal against Konyaspor.
The player’s decision to return to the Apaches has proved to be the right one as he has earned a spot on Nigeria’s provisional World Cup squad released by Coach Gernot Rohr.
”I want to say a big thanks to players, staffs, and management of Kasimpasa SK for believing in my abilities as a player… and the coach for helping me achieve my personal goal this season,” Omeruo posted on his official Instagram account.
”I am grateful and wish this amazing club a much better position next season.. ❤️.”
Omeruo previously had loan spells at Middlesbrough FC and Alanyaspor.
