Chelsea set to get Dembele for £106M

Chelsea has set £106million to beat Arsenal to the signature of Barcelona forward, according to report.

The Premier League Champions are close to meeting Barcelona valuation for Ousmane Dembele and are set to edge our Arsenal for his signature, according to Don Balon.

Chelsea was close to secure the deal to sign Dembele from Borrusia Dortmund last summer but was beaten to his signature by the Camp Nou giants.

Dembele has not really got the height he was seasons ago, but he has shown some flashes that he is one of the most exciting young players in Europe during his time with Borussia Dortmund.

The France international feels he could reach his main height in the Premier League, as his style could be more suited in the Premier League because of his pace and his direct style of play.

This would be a blow for rivals Arsenal, however, with Diario Gol recently linking the 20-year-old with the Gunners, even if he wasn’t too keen to take them up on that offer.

Chelsea could make some changes next summer as the form of Alvaro Morata remains questionable this season and Eden Hazard’s future seems to be unstable with Real Madrid circling.

If Dembele displays the kind of form he showed in his Dortmund and Rennes days, he could prove a superb signing for Chelsea or any other top club.
