Home based Super Eagles target quarter final ticket

By Augustine Akhilomen

Having overcome Libya’s hurdle in the second match of the Africa Nations Championship in Morocco, the Home Based Super Eagles will be hoping to crush their Equatorial Guinea counterpart in Tuesday’s final group C clash, in a bid to qualify for the knockout stages of the tournament.

On Friday, the team defeated Libya 1-0 thanks to Sunday Faleye’s solitary goal, to catapult the team to the top of the table.

Nigeria will only need an outright victory or a draw if they are to remain at the Tangers Stadium against an Equatorial Guinea side that are yet to win a game in group C.

Team manager, Salisu Yusuf knows that the senior national team must avoid defeat  (like wide margin defeat) in order not to face a shock exit from the tournament should Rwanda and Libya end up playing a draw.
