R. Madrid 0-3 Barcelona – Suarez, Messi score in Clasico

Real Madrid has a disastrous afternoon after Dani Carvajal was shown a red card for handling the ball in the box, Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi and Alex Vidal ensured the Catalonia had the three points in the bag and extend their lead over their arch rivals on the La Liga standings.

Real Madrid started off with an attacking play that saw Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal disallowed by the officiating referee.

The home team continued to attack in a bid to get an early goal but Barcelona defence is equal to the task.

Barcelona began to come into the game after a slow start and the but Real Madrid shows no sign of sitting back to defence.

Ronaldo almost give Real Madrid the lead but he mistimed a pass in front of goal, Real Madrid continued to look sharp on the attack as the Barcelona defence is kept on the alert.

Barcelona lacked the cutting edge in the opening 15 minutes as their pass are being intercepted at the centre of the park.

Both teams continued to attacked but none pose a real threat on goal. Ronaldo almost give Real Madrid the first goal but he selfishly decided to make an attempt but was blocked by the disciplined defense of Barcelona.

Paulinho almost put Barcelona ahead in the 29th minute but a brilliant save from Keylor Navas denied the Brazilian.

Ronaldo shoot was also saved by Ter Stegen to ensure the game remained goalless in the opening 32 minutes.

Real Madrid caught Barcelona off guard as Ronaldo was let losed in the Barcelona half but his pass to Karim Benzema was blocked by returning Gerard Pique.

Benzema’s effort was denied by the pole after a brilliant cross from Marcelo in the 42nd minute.
The first half ended in goalless draw after the first 45 minutes.

Real Madrid remained the sharp in the match in a bid to narrow down the lead but Barcelona remained disciplined at the defence as the keep the attack of the home team at bay.

Barcelona’s approach to the second half was quite different the visitors began to retained possession.
Barcelona broke the deadlock in in the 54th minute after a brilliant pass that caught the defence of the host open.

Barcelona almost got the second goal after but Suarez’s effort went to the side netting, Sergio Ramos was penalized after he fouled Suarez.

Messi got the second for Barcelona after Dani Carvajal handed a goal bound ball as he was shown the Red Card, Zinedine Zidane brought in Nacho as Benzema was withdrawn.

Barcelona continued to retained the ball as Real Madrid defence was left open on many occasions.

 A double substitution for Real Madrid as Kovacic was replaced by Gareth Bale and Casemiro was substituted for Marco Asensio in the 72nd minute.

Samedo almost got the third for the visitors but his effort went inches off the post.

Real Madrid continued to find the consolation goal but the Barcelona defence was up to the task calm all Real Madrid attacking move.
