Why Moses was benched against Liverpool – Conte

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has revealed why Victor Moses was benched in the 1-1 draw against Liverpool on Saturday in their last Premier League game.

Conte admitted that Moses’ hamstring injury was a blow to Chelsea, the wing back has missed eight games for the Premier Champions after sustaining an injury but the Nigeria international has resumed full training with the rest of the squad a week ago.

The former Liverpool player was an unused substitute against the Reds last week and Conte sighting the reason to be lack of match fitness.

”He is in contention but at the same time I have to make the best decision for every player,” Conte was quoted as saying by Football.London.

”For sure Victor is back from a bad injury and needs a bit of time to find the best physical condition. He is an important player for us. ” Conte said during his pre-match conference.

Chelsea will be up against Swansea at the Stamford Bridge on Wednesday, the Nigeria international is expected to feature in the match perhaps to play out some minutes in the encounter.
