Ex international Waidi Akanni has adviced Super Eagles technical adviser, Gernot Rohr to mastermind a tactical approach that would help subdue the Chipolopolo of Zambia in Saturday’s 2018 World Cup qualifier in Uyo.
Nigeria will seal qualification to the mundial if they pick the maximum points with a game to spare. However, a draw still put the team three points above Zambia, of which the final group B game could decide their fate.
With 10 points against Zambia’s seven points, Saturday’s encounter is expected to be a do-or-die game for teams.
However, Akanni told Kickintel.com that the Super Eagles would be too strong for their Chipolopolo counterpart on Saturday.
“The encounter between Nigeria and Zambia is almost upon us but then, it will be good for the technical adviser, Gernot Rohr to work perfectly on his tactics considering the fact that, this is our biggest oportunity of qualifying for the World Cup,” Akanni told Kickintel.
“The calibre of players in camp on paper, are good enough to get the job done on Saturday, however, football isn’t mathematics that you could easily predict.
“The basic thing I want the technical crew and players to do is that they shouldn’t underestimate Zambia regardless of the players they parade.”
