Barcelona, Madrid target young midfielder

Real Madrid and Barcelona are going head-to-head for Olympique Marseille midfielder Maxime Lopez.

Barca see Lopez as a replacement for captain Andres Iniesta – and their interest has alerted eternal rivals Real Madrid.

Real coach Zinedine Zidane wants to bring Lopez to Madrid, with the two families close.

However, Sport says Barca are convinced they also have a card to play, with Lopez close to Ousmane Dembele.

Working in their favour is the presence of Barca icon Andoni Zubizarreta at Marseille, where he has been sports director for almost two years.
