Sporting CP announce deal for Barcelona defender

Sporting CP have announced the signing of Barcelona defender Jeremy Mathieu.

He was permitted to leave on a free transfer by Barcelona and the Catalan outfit wished him all the best at his new side in a club statement.

“FC Barcelona and Jeremy Mathieu have agreed to terminate the player’s contract, after three full seasons at the club,” it read.

“He will now sign with Sporting CP in the coming hours and put an end to his time as an Azulgrana.”
