Super Eagles midfielder, Kingsley Sokari says Mikel Obi remains his role model in the round leather game.
The former Enyimba international star who will always be remembered for his long-range volley that he scored against Korea in the Flying Eagles 4-0 win at the 2015 FIFA World Cup, has remained a huge part of CS Sfaxin squad in the Tunisian league.
Having managed a handful of matches in the colours of the Super Eagles, Sokari told Soccernet.com.ng from his base in Tunisia on Tuesday morning that he idolises Mikel as a role model due to his playing style and commitment to the senior national team.
“I believe Mikel Obi is my role model in the Super Eagles considering the fact that he carries the team along and I always appreciate the way he plays for both club and country,” Sokari told Soccernet.com.ng
“He’s simple in nature and always committed to the Super Eagles get certain things right. At least I have had the opportunity of rubbing shoulders with him in the Super Eagles camp whenever we are preparing for a qualifier.”
