Barcelona star, Arda Turan has agreed to join Arsenal but Barcelona is holding out for a fee of £26m but the Gunners have not yet agreed ona fee with Barcelona, according to reports in Spain.

Spanish paper El Desmarque, reports that Barca is open for the ex-Atletico Madrid midfielder and Arsene Wenger has stepped up his interest in the 30-year-old player.

But while the player would welcome a switch to Arsenal, Barcelona are still holding out for a €30 million (£26m) transfer fee.

Wenger is trying to reduce that valuation and is likely to succeed as Barcelona want to complete the sale as soon as possible and a deal could be struck withinthe next few weeks.

The Turkey international only started 15 games in La Liga and the Champions League for Barcelona this season and is up for sale, despite having three years remaining on his current contract.

Barcelona sporting director Robert Fernandez is also already looking for replacements for Arda in recent speculations Marco Verratti and Phillippe Coutinho has been widely tipped as his replacement.
