NPFL: Rangers off bottom spot after defeating Wikki

The good times are finally rolling in for Enugu Rangers as they made it two wins on the bounce on Wednesday; beating hard-fighting Wikki Tourists 3-2.

Wednesday’s game was a rescheduled matchday 13 Nigeria Professional Football League fixture.

The goals for the Flying Antelopes came from Bobby Clement, Ifeanyi George and Ousmane Pape while Samuel Chukwudi and Shammah Tanze scored Wikki’s goals which proved not to enough.

The three points has taken Rangers off the bottom to 19th in the league table with three games in hand.

Rangers’ first goal came in the 12th minute while George doubled the Flying Antelopes’ lead from the penalty spot in the 40th minute after following a hand ball by Abdullahi Musa inside his box.

Wikki made it 2-1 in the 51st minute thanks to Chukwudi who converted from the spot after Pape committed a foul in his box.

Rangers restored their two-goal advantage as Pape made up for his error as he nodded in Ugwu Uwadiegwu’s corner to make it 3-1.

Wikki refused to give up as Tanze got on to Victor Alegbe’s pass to bring the score at 3-2 in the 79th minute.
