Kelechi Iheanacho was among the scorers as Premier League giants Manchester City rolled over second-tier Huddersfield Town in a fifth-round replay Wednesday night.
After a goalless first game,Pep Guardiola’s side fell behind after seven minutes when Harry Bunn fired a low effort past goalkeeper Claudio Bravo but that served only to stir the hosts into action.
City however began to dominate proceedings and the in-form Leroy Sane drew them level from close range on the half-hour mark, before Sergio Aguero gave them the lead after from the penalty spot after he was bundled to the floor.
Aguero, back to form after a mid-season slump, turned provider for City’s third as he picked out compatriot Pablo Zabaleta for a simple finish.
The demolition continued in the second period when Raheem Sterling’s teasing cross was expertly turned in by Aguero at the near post for City’s fourth, before Iheanacho completed the rout with a simple tap-in at the death.
It was the first goal for the out-of-favour Nigerian international since he scored in a Premier League victory over Hull in December.
City, winners of the FA Cup in 2011, have now secured an away tie against Premier League rivals Middlesborough fora chance to make the last four.
