A former Super Eagles striker just back in England on a short-term contract has suffered an injury blow.
Yakubu Aiyegbeni who is with League One outfit, Coventry City could be out for the rest of the season if the feared hamstring tear he suffered on Saturday is confirmed as serious.
The former Nigeria international is meant to undergo a scan on Monday to discover the full extent of the injury which some fear may lead to a premature end to his season.
A report on coventrycity-mad.co.uk suggest that the Nigerian striker may have been have caused himself this misfortune as he came in as a 70th minute substitute for Marcus Tudgay without warming up.
Yakubu soon tore his hamstring and had to walk round the pitch as he was unable to run.
Yakubu who netted over 130 senior goals in England, during a nine year stint, playing in the top flight for Blackburn, Portsmouth, Middlesborough and Everton, and in the Championship for Leicester and Reading.is yet to get off the mark with Coventry before this injury setback.
