Striker Stephen Odey scored first hat-trick of the 2016/17 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season, as Mountain of Fire and Miracles (MFM) FC thrashed visiting Lobi Stars 4-0 in their Week three fixtures at the Agege Stadium on Sunday.
Odey registered his hat-trick in the 28th, 59th and 67th minutes respectively, while Tchato Giscard also put his name on the score-sheet for the Olukoya Boys as the game ended 4-0 at full time.
Champions Rangers International secured their first win of the season in their 1-0 win against El-Kanemi Warriors at the ‘Cathedral’ Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu. Boby Clement scored the only goal of the match for the Flying Antelopes.
League newcomer, Remo Stars FC also registered their first win of the season in their 1-0 win againstAbia Warriors at their Sagamu Stadium on Sunday. Victor Mbaoma scored from the penalty spot in the added minutes to give the Sky Blues Stars the much needed victory in the home tie.
Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) FC piped FC IfeanyiUbah 1-0 at the Ilorin centre, Ivorian forward Guy Kuemian was the hero as Rivers United FC defeated Niger Tornadoes 1-0. Plateau United defeated 10-man Sunshine Stars 3-1. Benjamin Turba scored a brace for the Jos-based club.
Kabiru Umar netted the third goal for Plateau United. Alaba Adeniyi reduced the tally for Sunshine; but the goal was not enough as the match ended 3-1 in favour of the home side.
Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) squandered their first goal lead by losing 2-1 to former champions Kano Pillars at the Sani Abacha Stadium, in Kano.
Enyimba scored two late penalties against newly promoted Gombe United FC at the UJ Esuene Stadium in Calabar. Dare Ojo and captain Mfon Udoh coverted their penalties as the Peoples Elephant secured 2-0 vital home win.
Both Wikki Tourists and Katsina United won their games 1-0 against Akwa United and Nasarawa United FC respectively.
