Ahead of Nigeria’s 2018 World Cup qualifier against the Desert Foxes of Algeria, Super Eagles Chief coach, Salisu Yusuf has revealed that the technical adviser, Genort Rohr is delighted with the Super Eagles commitment, hunger and determination since taking over the team.
The German tactician has won all two of his matches since joining the Super Eagles, against Tanzania 1-0 in an inconsequential 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifier and a 2-1 victory over the Chipolopolo of Zambia in a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier, which put him in the driving sit of group B ahead of Cameroon and Algeria.
With the team set to confront the Fenneces at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Saturday in what is expected to be a mouth-watering encounter, Salisu told Soccernet.com.ng that Rohr has lauded the commitment of the Super Eagles players.
“I must confess to you that the Technical Adviser of the Super Eagles, Genort Rohr is completely overwhelmed with the fighting spirit and commitment the players have displayed in the two international matches they have played so far,” Salisu told Soccernet.com.ng.
“He’s happy the players are ready and determined to play for their fatherland regardless of the nation’s financial situation. Besides, he wants the players to remain focus and ensure they achieve qualification for the 2018 World Cup in Russia so as to make Nigerians happy,” he concluded.
