Despite
not playing any role in Arsenal’s 1-1 draw against Manchester United at the
weekend, Super Eagles midfielder, Alex Iwobi could be given the green-light to
confront PSG at the Emirates Stadium in Tuesday’s Champions League tie.
The
Nigerian international shone brilliantly when both sides met in Paris back in
September, in a match that ended 1-1. His
sterling performance earned him a starting shirt ahead of Alex
Oxlade-Chamberlain in subsequent matches, of which he has become an integral
part of the team this ongoing season.
Having
featured in four Champions League matches, Iwobi, who has been criticized for
not scoring goals by team’s coach, Arsene Wenger, would be hoping to improve on that against a PSG side that will be parading players such as Edinson Cavani,
Lucas Moura, Angel Di Maria, Blaise Matuidi and Marco Verratti.
Meanwhile,
Super Eagles winger, Ahmed Musa will be hoping to maintain his place in the
team as Leicester City host Club Brugge at the King Power Stadium in today’s
Champions League clash.
A
win or draw for the Foxes will automatically earn them qualification to the
knockout stages of the competition, their first since the club was created in
1884.
Musa,
who has made four appearances in the Premier League, scoring two goals, knows
that they must shoulder the goal scoring responsibilities to seal top spot in
the group.
