Ado Den Haag’s Tyronne Ebuehi has turned down Gernot Rohr’s invitation to join the Super Eagles camp for the FIFA2018 World Cup qualifier against Algeria.
The defender told his club’s website that he will not be coming to Nigeria, because his focus is on how to cement his place at Ado Den Haag.
He was one of the new players Rohr has invited to beef up his options for the team.
But there are speculations that Ebuehi is under pressure to play for Holland rather than Nigerian his country of origin.
“I see it as a great honour that I am noted in my homeland. But at this moment ADO Den Haag requires my full attention. Especially now that I am settled in the team.
“Therefore, it doesn’t seems to me like the right time to travel to Nigeria for the match. I want to focus completely on the club but I certainly do not rule out playing for Nigeria in the future, if the next time am called up,” Ebuehi said.
