Algeria Won’t Survive Super Eagles Onslaught In Uyo – Nwosu

Ex international, Henry Nwosu says he’s optimistic the Super Eagles will put the Desert Foxes of Algeria to the slaughter slab in Saturday’s 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.

The three-time Africa champions are top of group B with three points after winning their first match 2-1 against Zambia in Ndola while Algeria and Cameroon played out a 1-1 draw to remain one point apiece.

Nwosu, who was part of the 1980 African Cup of Nations winning squad with the Green Eagles, told Soccernet.com.ng that the team is united enough to condemn the Desert Foxes to defeat.

“I can’t see the Desert Foxes of Algeria pick a point in Uyo because I am optimistic the Super Eagles will thrash them silly,” Nwosu told Soccernet.com.ng

“Yes, I agree with you that football is not mathematics, couple with the fact that the Algerian side is also a top football nation in the continent. There is no doubt that the encounter will be explosive because Algeria knows they need a win to revive their World Cup campaign, however, Nigeria will overcome them regardless of the scoreline.

“This is a must win game for the Super Eagles in a bid to stretch their lead on the table before facing the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon. The technical crew of the team knows the importance of the match and I believe nothing short of victory will be a result for us,” he concluded.
