Report: Marseille considering Mikel transfer

John Obi Mikel is likely heading for the exit doors from Chelsea in the January transfer windows and there are mounting speculations about his next destination.

According to latest transfer reports, French side Olympique Marseille are considering a swoop on the out-of-favour Chelsea star once the January transfer window opens.

The Nigeria national team captain have virtually be frozen out at Stanford Bridge as he is yet to feature for Chelsea this term under manager Antonio Conte.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Marseille view Mikel as a quality replacement for the injured Abou Diaby.

Mikel is in the final year of his contract with Chelsea and is free to hold talks with other teams when the January transfer window opens.

The 29-year-old has spent 10 trophy-laden years with the Blues, making well over 350 appearances
