Arsenal To Offer Nigerian Star Alex Iwobi New Contract

By Denhinbo Timothy

Super Eagles striker, Alex Iwobi will be rewarded with a new contract at
English Premier League club, Arsenal. Iwobi is in line for a bumper new
contract  per Sammy Wejinya [Super Sport]  – just six months after his
last deal – following his impressive displays for the Gunners in recent
weeks.

The 20-year-old signed an agreement worth £25,000-a-week in April but is
now in line for a further extension, which underlines him becoming a
fixture in the first team this season.

Iwobi has impressed the club’s top brass and manager Arsene Wenger with
his progress, and will be rewarded with a big pay rise and another
improved contract if he keeps it up.

The young Nigerian striker has been one of Wenger’s best recent success
stories and Arsenal want to tie him down for the long term and take him
up to a good first-team salary, according to reports in the Mirror.

Iwobi has made five league appearances for Arsenal this season.
