Super Eagles goalkeeper, Carl Ikeme has said that the team should turn attention to their forthcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Zambia in Lusaka.
Nigeria defeated a ‘stubborn’ Taifa Stars of Tanzania 1-0 in Saturday’s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the Akwa Ibom International Stadium thanks to Kelechi Iheanacho’s stunning goal in the 77th minute.
The Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper, who has become an integral part of the Super Eagles squad since taking over from Vincent Enyeama, said in his twitter handle that the team appreciated the fans support and that Nigeria should concentrate on overcoming Zambia in October World Cup qualifier.
“Good result today, thanks for the fans who can to the game. Your support was amazing. Now we look forward to our wcq next month.
“Also a special mention to the Tanzania goalkeeper on his debut!! Some great stops and could of been bigger defeat but for his saves. Carl Ikeme @Carl_Ikeme.
