Super
Eagles winger, Victor Moses was at his best mettle as Chelsea defeated
‘stubborn’ Watford 2-1 at the Vicarage Road Stadium in Saturday’s
Premier League match.
Moses who was impressive in the Blues
preseason campaign came on from the bench in the 72nd minute for Pedro
Rodriguez as he added more bit in the attack which eventually resulted
to the team’s equalizing goal thanks to Michy Batshuayi’s goal in the
80th minute.
However, Ighalo who was on for the entire duration
of the match had a quite game as the duo of John Terry and Gary Cahill
caged him.
Before then, the hosts had gone ahead in the 55th
minute through Etienne Capoue’s neat volley. This further gave Watford
the momentum as they went in search of the killer goal, however, it was
Chelsea who got the goal as Diego Costa beautifully slotted the ball
past Watford goalkeeper, Heurelho Gomes.
The Blues could have
extended their lead as Batshuayi’s shot kissed the edge of the net as
the visiting team picked the sealed the three points to move joint top
with Manchester City, Manchester United and Hull City.
