Golden Eaglets knocked out of U-17 AFCON

The Nigeria U-17 team, the GoldenEaglets will not participate in the U-17 AFCON after they were beaten by Niger Republic on Saturday.

The Eaglets who won the first leg 1-0 could not keep the advantage in Niamey as they were beaten 3-1by their hosts; hence they will not participate in the African Championship let alone have the opportunity to defend their title at the next FIFA U-17 World Cup.

This is the first time in the country’s history that Nigeria won’t be part of all Afcon tournaments at all levels. Senior, U20 & now the U17.
